What this site collects
Nothing about you, unless you send us the form. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from third parties. The fonts are served from this site, not from Google.
When you submit the contact form we receive the restaurant name, your name and your email address, plus your website and message if you fill those in. We also store which page the form was sent from, your browser's user agent, and the country your request came from, which our host derives from your IP address.
Our host also keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, so the site can be operated and defended against abuse.
Why, and on what legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and take steps towards a possible contract: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- To keep the site running and secure: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in operating it safely.
Who else sees it
- Vercel Inc. hosts this site and processes the server logs.
- Supabase stores the enquiries you send. If you become a client, it also stores the menu files and dish photos you upload through your private Bocavi page, and the login we create for you. The database and the files are located in the EU (Ireland).
- Telegram receives a notification when an enquiry arrives, so it gets answered quickly. That notification contains what you wrote in the form, and Telegram processes it outside the European Union.
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry leads to a contract, we keep it for as long as German commercial and tax law require, which can be up to ten years. If it does not, we delete it once it is clear nothing will come of it, and at the latest after 24 months.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, or to object to us using it. Write to the email address above and we will answer.
You can also complain to a data protection authority. Ours is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Rheinland-Pfalz, in Mainz.
